defoe - gone to Bournemouth
Started every game this season, fitness? Or just desire to keep fit and play? That's all I'm saying

For seven consecutive PL games Sunderland have not scored. Who are they playing next?

Re: defoe
No matter what the score is next week you just know that we will concede at least one goal.

Re: defoe
I loved Jermiane when he was a young hopeful. I don't care that he left badly. But he's a 2nd striker and we don't play with a 2nd striker. He's Sunderland's only striker when Anichibee isn't fit so frankly, he won't improve us next year.

You've got to be really desperate to want a 34 year old striker that has won nothing in his career and never been a top striker even though he scores goals for a soon to be relegated side...

Just saying he's better off at a relegated Sunderland where he's appreciated.

I don't understand the opening post.

Having said that, I don't want to.

Re: defoe
Back in the England fold, and deservedly so, even if it is short term.

Like him back next season, but I think there will be a few clubs after him, wouldn't be surprised if Spurs even went back for him. Still has a couple of years left at this level.

Re: defoe
I don't disagree with that Simon S but, he has never been really top class. If the owners want us to be top 6 as they say, then Defoe is not the answer. He wasn't a top performer in his prime and at 34 coming up 35 that won't change. He does well in a struggling side prepared to play to his strengths...

Re: defoe
That's fine, I think top six next season is unrealistic from where we are this season.

Re: defoe
Especially if our owner's ambition is a 35 year old Jermaine Defoe on a free....

Re: defoe
pee wee, just making the point that all our useless cunts break down so often, but a 35 year old can play every game , not really hard to understand, if you can actually read, you fucking moronic gimp

Mourinho :
Jose Mourinho believes 34-year-old Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe could be a target for top clubs should the Black Cats be relegated this season.

'I always say age is not important if your body is below that age. You can be 40 and have the body of a 30-year-old man,' said Mourinho.
'I think this guy (Defoe) is really fit. He is still fast in the first metres. He is very intuitive. In his movements, in his shots, he’s a child! He doesn't look thirty-something.

He could do a job
We currently don't have any striker to rely on.

Re: defoe
Nailed on to sign in the summer, great as an option but I hope he's not DS marquee signing he's been dreaming of.

Willtell 9:27 Mon Apr 10
Re: defoe
There's a difference between doing a job and 100% improving our squad. I have to say that I liked Defoe as a youngster but he was always either on a hot scoring streak or would go 10 games without scoring which as a 2nd striker was not good. I think it was this that stopped him going to a top club.

The reason I think a move to WH would not work out for Defoe is that he would keep losing his place at WH when we only play with one up front. Defoe isn't a number 10 or "inside forward" in old money. He's a tiny front man but few sides play 2 forwards...

That's my opinion on it but if he does sign I hope I'm proved wrong....

Not been drinking, seen some shit this season zaza and calleri

These pricks in charge wont serve up much better than Defoe

Not for me to longer memory of him first time around.

Sven Roeder 9:31 Mon Apr 10
Re: defoe
On Saturday he would have played instead of Callieri
That improves our squad
You need 3 if not 4 reliable strikers and he could be one of those

Our striking group obviously needs a complete overhaul

theaxeman 9:33 Mon Apr 10
Re: defoe
He put in a transfer request almost before the final whistle was blown, then kept getting sent off, then sign for tottenham. Fuck him.
On the football side of things unless we play with 2 up which we or anybody else rarely do whats the point?

Willtell 9:34 Mon Apr 10
Re: defoe
I agree but once we get Batshuyai and Rooney playing alongside Carroll and Sakho where will Defoe fit in...?
